Hey there!
My name’s Bryan Barney. I’m from Washington State, in the United States. The nature
there’s really beautiful, so I grew up camping, fishing, and hiking every summer. My father often had business trips to Japan when I was young, so I’ve always been really curious about it! The history, culture, pop culture, and so on.
Lately, I’ve been getting really into painting models and reading at coffee shops on the weekend. I’m a big fan of Japanese giant robot media, especially Mobile Suit Gundam, but I also love foreign crime thrillers. I have a pretty big family and we often played video games and read comics or watched dramas together, so I love talking about that, too!
This summer (2023) will be the 6th year I’ve lived in Japan. I’ve worked as an English teacher that entire time. Before Japan, I lived in China and Brazil, also in education. I’m really looking forward to talking with you!
