“Hi! My name is Ashley and I’m from Orlando, Florida. I lived very close to Disney World and the beach, so I’m glad Japan has them both! I moved to Japan six years ago, and have lived in Miyagi, Aichi, and now Shizuoka with my Japanese husband. We have an adorable, fat cat named Acorn and we love her to bits! We’re hoping to have kids one day, so it would be interesting to learn about raising a family in Japan vs. in America.

I really love to travel (and try all the food!), and have been to 25 countries so far! I have even worked as a travel agent (and was a certified Disney specialist)! My Master’s is in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and I have been able to work with infants in nurseries all the way up to teaching adults business English.

On the weekends, I always want to be outside – hiking, camping, or just taking a drive to see the nature around me. Otherwise, I love cooking, baking, playing my ukulele, reading, going to concerts, or just cuddling with my cat and watching dramas on Netflix. I’m also a huge Harry Potter fan!
