“Hello! My name is Andrew and I’m from Swansea in Wales. I’ve been teaching English for almost nine years. I live in Tokyo, and I’ve been here for over three years now! Before coming to Japan, I lived in Taiwan for almost six years and studied Chinese there, as well as studying Japanese here in Japan, so I know how difficult it is to study a new language!

Before I got my CELTA certificate to teach English, I studied history at university, and I’m still very interested in history, so if you love history, please let me know! In my free time, I love hiking, especially in the spring and autumn in Japan to see the beautiful cherry blossoms and red leaves. I also enjoy watching Japanese pro wrestling, reading (recently I’ve been reading Haruki Murakami), playing video games and recently, I’ve gotten really into cooking!

I keep a diary in Japanese to help me study and it really helps me to get my brain thinking in Japanese. I’m looking forward to reading your diaries in English and helping you to get your brain thinking in English!”
